I'll start my rant again about the stereo in my '06 9-3 SC - I think it's pretty good. As Mike says, it has a sub in the spare-tire well, and, unless your a head-banger, does give decent bass.
I cannot comprehend the reason to add much volume to the rear speakers. Music is meant to be faced, with the instruments identifiable to the left / right / center. This is what is accomplished in my SC's system. I do think upgrading the speakers is a great way to get better sound in any factory system. The fact that the door speakers a re 2-ohm might be compensated by a much better efficiency rating. I'm sure those Infinity's sound marvelous, I may do the same soon.
I am probably the only non-Bose fan in this audience. I findthem to be WAY too boomy with loud mid-low frequencies. Not very clear. But, I say that not having heard the '07 version in a 9-3.
Good luck, the beat thing you can do is go for a test-drive and listen. Everyone has their own opions, as you can see!
