Finally got the price and details from the dealer. $571 for the glass and $195 for the independent installer, $766 total installed. I think a reasonable price for original Saab glass, with in 10-20% of the independents, much lower than I had expected.

What amazes me is according to the parts department there are no Saab windshields available in the country, something he is looking into with respect to delivery date.

Doing a search last night there seems to be a lot of concern about Saab glass longevity, soft glass I guess as it pits and scratches easily and people have problem with serious sun glare after 60-80K miles due to surface deterioration.
