First post here and hoping someone can help me.

The trip computer on my recently purchased 2004 2.2 TiD has not always re-set itself when i put some fuel into it so sometimes i have to press the Clear button until Trip Computer Cleared message appears. Today i put some fuel in the car and had to press the clear button but this time the Trip Computer Cleared message wont go away and it wont display mileage left, time date etc.

Does anyone know how to fix this - is it a simple case of disconnecting the battery?

Any tips and or advice would be greatly appreciated - i didnt get an owners manual with the car and as this is my first Saab i dont want to do anything which may break something!
