One of the first things to check is if the A/C compressor clutch is still engaged and running.
That can be hard for the untrained eye and in cramped spaces as it usually is on a newer car.
If the A/C clutch is not engaged, it is a matter of checking if power is still present at the A/C clutch and if it is, it's probably the clutch coil winding that goes open with lots of heat.
If the power is missing down at the A/C clutch, then it could be a slew of different things.
