Jimg - The dealer parts department, Great Britains SAAB, said what is needed to fix my problem is a ICM-2 exchange part for the CIM. where it fits I have no idea, this is a warranty service and I leave that up to the professionals. I just found it odd that 1) it isn't available 2)they have no idea when it will be available and can't seem to find out from autocraft what their production schedule is.
They suggested I email SAAB about the problem but felt that SAAB would only go back to the them (the dealer) to see what the problem was and it would not help move things along.
I have had this car just over 8 months, it runs like a top, always starts and runs really well. It's a real joy to drive but I have had no less than 6 trips to the dealer for this kind of "little" stuff that is never easily resolved or even resolved in one trip as they always have to order a part requiring another trip back. So those six trips have actually turned into 12 dealer trips.
If this is what occurs during warranty I can't begin to imagine what will occur when the car comes off of warranty and what the the costs involved will be. Sorry for the rant
