Last year, I posted a question about the whining noise broadcast through my stereo when using XM. It occurred when I accelerated. On approximately four occasions I asked the dealer to fix it and each time they said nothing was wrong and all the wires were properly grounded. On the last occasion it was in the shop, a mechanic finally listened to the radio while I was in the car and heard the noise. He said the short may be inside the XM module; if necessary, he'd order a new one. After being told that their courtesy shuttle would pick me up from the metro and waiting 1/2 hour before realizing no one was coming, I got in a cab, traveled to the shop and picked up my car. Although the scheduled maintenance was complete, the radio remained the same. No one was there to tell me why no action was taken. In frustration, I went to Radio Shack and picked up a $15 ground-loop isolator and adaptor cord to bypass and filter the XMs RCA wires. Voila. Problem fixed. I am happy I can listen to XM again, but I'm so pissed off that the dealer couldn't/didn't want to figure this out. I mentioned my fix to them, but they had no comment. Anyway, thanks for everyones past advice. As usual, the Saabnet forumites are a wealth of knowledge. Thanks for letting me rant! (I feel much better)
