It could just be that I'm over scrutinizing but I found, post recall upgrade, the idle to be smoother sounding an quieter and low RPM performance smoother from the get go with a bit of an increase in low rpm power (from 2000 to 3000 rpm). Car seems a bit more driveable and responsive. Of course, it could also be the better "winter" gas hitting the pumps that will boost the power of any vehicle.
Dlr was not real forthcoming on the details but I know "emission" stuff can include ignition timing as well as fuel delivery so its certainly possible that some tweeks may have been done (small tweeks can make a big difference in engine response).
Overall though, I think the purpose of the recall was to address rough starting issues that some folks were having. The only problem I ever had was if I started cold then shutoff within a few minutes (on restart engine would bog for about 20 seconds as if flooded). Since I didn't do that very often I only noticed it a few times over the year.
