I have a 2007 9-3 2.0T on the recall list. I await a call from the dealer that they have the software to perform the recall. My car now has over 13,000 miles on the Odo and call me crazy, but I think that the idle is getting rougher as the miles get added on.
At first I thought it was just the engine being needing to be broken in, but at over 10K this process should be behind me. I realize also that we are getting into colder weather, but personally I think the mileage really sucks on this car. I am getting 25.5 - 26 mpg in the last few fills with 91+ octane fuel.
I previously owned a 2001 9-3 and consistently received 30.5 mpg average with the same quality of fuel. Is it the recall? Has GM screwed up the engine that bad that the mileage really is this bad!?
As a follow-up question, is the 2007 2.0T even a SAAB engine anymore? Do the spark plugs get the series of spark bursts to clean them at shut-down? Is this simply a conglomeration from the GM parts bin with a Saab label stuck on it?
Thanks for your comments.
