It sounds as if you are buying almost the exact same car that I now have (but I got it new almost 4 years ago). The top software in the '04 has some quirks, but they are minor. For example, although the compressor is supposed to cut off when top goes down and go back on when the top goes up (this is subject to settings that a dealer can set), the dealer was unable to set it to do that. I opted for always having the compressor off when the top goes down (a setting the dealer can program), but it means that when the top goes back up, I have to push AUTO to get the climate system to work normally again. (Or wait about 2 hours with the car off.)

Also, when the top goes down, the climate control system will return to the last setting when the top was down, so if it was set for blowers on full, it might return to that on its own. But this is also intermittent.

I have also had some strange things happen with the windows, which can usually be fixed by re-setting the pinch protect. A dealer (or your manual) can explain how to reset pinch protect yourself. It sometimes works and sometimes does not.

You might want to make sure that the software updates for the top were all performed. There was at least one, maybe two, for my car.
