You aren't nuts. I have 90k on my origional front brakes, but I am going to need to change shortly. I have the 5-speed manual so I hardly ever use them. Back to the brakes, I had to change my rear brakes before front which does not make a whole lot of sense (to me at least), but they went at about 70k. As far as a ballpark price, let me say it is not pretty. Your looking at about 1000-1100 dollars to change all 4 rotors and pads.I recently recieved an estimate of 558 dollars for new front breaks and rotors and the rear was around that. Saab likes to use really REALLY soft rotors because it reduces any noise and makes the cars stop wonderfully at the expense of having to swap out rotors with pads. As far as your mileage, if you have the 2.0T (210hp) motor and are getting 35 mpg that is awesome. I have the 2.0t (175hp) and I get around 37 on the interstate and I have gotten up to 600 miles on a tank (All interstate miles of course averaging around 70-75 mph). As for maintainance, if you have an auto you certianly need to get the trammy fluid changed. If you have the manual I've polled saab mechanics to a number between 90k and 100k on fluid. Your plugs and emission system should be fine up to 120k to 150k and possibly longer.
