My 2003 9-3 done the same thing. There was, however, a recall regarding my key. I used to have worse alarm issues such as it randomly going off and once it just starting going off while I was driving the car. I think it was some sort of a programing issue or something to do with "residue" on the key. After they preformed the recall work, the alarm, for the most part, behaves normaly. But, as someone else posted I just unlock my car doors before popping the trunk out of habit. I think it is just something you will have to get used to. Saab's can have a mind of thier own and they can be dificult to persuade otherwise.
