Alarm system/immobilizer problem in 2004 9-3 Linear

Greetings all...I've been having a few "challenges" with my alarm system (well I think that's what it is) on my 2004 9-3 Linear with 45,000 miles on it. I bought the car used from a Saab dealer last fall and have been loving it, except some electrial/alarm-related hiccups. Last week I locked the car up and walked away...nobody else around, about a minute later the alarm started going off.
And then today, turned car on to start driving, put into drive, drove about 10 feet, and the car shut down--engine off, computer screen blank...nothing. Because it was in gear I couldn't even get the key out as I couldn't turn it to lock position. So I called AAA for help...while waiting for them to arrive, heard a little click, click, whirr...and computer screen came back on with "Immobilizer System Failure. Try starting again." I did, and the car started and drove just fine.
While this happened to me in a parking lot, I'm concerned it could happen on a highway, which would likely end with, shall we say, BIG problems.
Anyone ever encounter similar problems?
And on a related note, the dealer from whom I bought the car was about an hour away--anyone have good experience with Saab mechanics in/near Annapolis, Maryland?
Thanks so much for your thoughts....
