Not really like shifting a manual as I remember it (my last manual tranny vehicle was an '84 S-10 pickup I sold in '93) but you can "give it a go" if you like.
I have shifted my wife's '06 SC 2.0T in manual mode a few times. It shifts much quicker if you let off the gas IIRC, which I thought was odd since auto boxes do not need this techinique in full auto mode. If you stay on the gas the shifts are very delayed - 2 or 3 seconds. But I may have this 180 degrees reversed.
