Hi all,
Just turned my leased 05 Linear in and bought an 08 SportCombi 2.0T, my third red Saab, to celebrate my quarter-life crisis.
The 05 steering was smooth, comfortable, and soft perhaps. The 08 steering is much tighter and tracks amazingly straight. BUT I feel a constant vibration that I had never felt in my previous car. Either the roads around me (live in Westchester and commute into NYC daily) are terrible, or there is some mechanical defect with my car. I took it to Saab of Greenwich yesterday, and they found the tires to be out of balance. The balancing issue is resolved (the car used to actually be unstable), but the steering wheel vibration is still there.
Is the 08 steering really just transmitting a huge amount more feedback than my 05, or should I be more concerned? Has anyone else who made the same transition noticed the difference?
Really appreciate your input!
