Follow Swedecar's directions, but be REAL careful taking that upper vent out. There are actually three tabs at the top of the vent, and if you get those, the vent will sort of tilt out at the top and you can lift it at the bottom. The problem is, you can't really see the right top tab. It's actually farther to the right than you think it is. The one you see is one of the ones that takes the vent apart. I made the mistake of bending the wrong tabs, and whole vent fell apart. It consists of about 20 pieces, and it's really a fascinating mechanism. I am now an expert on reassembling Saab 9-3 vents. Once you get the vent out, there are two screws at the top of the radio. Take them out and tilt the radio forward and lift from the bottom.
