2006 Aero SC Auto, 55k. I'm pretty happy with the transmission. I do occasionally use the manual mode when on 2-lane road looking to pass quickly. It really isn't a good substitute for a manual as you have to look at the dash to see the gear status. Really wish that was on the SID at center of dash. Some times it changes gears for you at exactly the wrong moment. So you thought you were in 4th and down shifting to 3rd, when you really go to 2nd. Can be a bit of a surprise. For that reason I avoid manual. Oh- it also can be good in snow.
I also had a balky automatic in the first 10k miles. It would sort of hunt for a gear between 2nd & 3rd when it should have been upshifting. Software upgrade seems to have solved the problem. Now I worry that another s/w upgrade will unsolve it!
All said and done I love the car. Though if marital bliss would allow I would go back to a manual.
