First question, do you have an auto or manual. There are probably hundreads of posts on here about people have transmission problems out of the 03's and 04's. If you have a manual, I cannot be of much help except to say change your trammy fluid and see if there are any pieces of metal in it and go from there. But, if you have the auto, that is what the people were having problems in. Odly enough, Saab used bad radiator couplings and it alloud the trammy fluid and coolant to "mix". obviously this is very bad and most all of the transmissions didn't make it outta warrenty. The good news is, (don't quote me on this) but if you have an auto take it to any dealer and the Saab should pay for it to be fixed. This is a known problem with them. They sent out a few letters to people whose vin matched the problem cars, but if you have an auto take it too your dealer immediediantly. If your coolant and trammy fluid is mixing it is only a matter of time (very short at that).
