Re: Comfort opening on the 2006's... Posted by MI-Roger [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Re: Comfort opening...., Caarma ![]() ![]() |
I couldn't find anything in the Owner's Manual regarding this other than an asterisk identifying that some cars had this feature. I later located the 2006 Dealer/Sales Brochure that identified this feature is included as part of the Premium Package only.
Comfort Opening allows you to open both front windows and the sunroof while walking towards the car by Pressing and Holding the Door Unlock button on the remote. My wife uses this a lot in the hot summer months to vent the trapped hot air out of the car before she even opens the driver's door. European versions of our cars also offer Comfort Closing, whch does the opposite and allows remote closing of power windows. Overly aggresive Tort Lawyers in the US have resulted in SaabUSA not allowing this feature here, (at least that is the commonly held belief behind the absence of Comfort Close on all US spec cars).
The Premium Package for 2006 included fog lights, Xenon head lamps, and power front passenger seat in addition to comfort opening. Since my wife's friend's 2007 model does not have fog lamps (available only with Premium Pkg in 2006) I am assuming Comfort Close is not possible on her car.
If anyone knows if the 2007 option packages were different than the 2006 in this regard, please let me know. It was "promised" that I would be able to provide an answer to her friend's question.
