Is the 9-5 a cpo? I think the cpo warranty is 6 years from date of service or 100K. Quite a benefit in a low initial cost car, especially if you plan to drive the car for a long time.
Personally, I very much prefer the driving experience of the 9-5 over the 9-3. Plenty of torque where you need it, economical at cruising speeds, super seats, inspires confidence in bad weather, cheap to insure etcetcetc I think the A3 is intriguing, because I like stark but high quality interiors, but in an either/or with the Saab, I'd take the 9-5 and keep the money difference.
Plus, the other day I saw an A4 (?) in the shop with electrical gremlins. The seats and carpets were out. Yikes! I didn't know a car could have that much wiring. I hope it was still under warranty. (Well, no, as a matter of fact, I've never seen a 9-5 with the seats and carpets out.)
