Every 6 months.... Posted by MI-Roger [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: How often do you change oil (miles) according to the, Wasabi, Tue, 21 Oct 2008 13:39:54 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
My wife only drives about 10k miles per year so the 6 month interval corresponds to about 5k miles. I use Total Quartz Energy 9000 in 0W/30 weight, a synthetic oil which meets the GM/Saab/Opel LL-025-A spec requirement for this engine.
I just endured a nightmare with my son's '01 Blazer, running Mobil-1 oil since new, which went 12 months between changes. 12 months time, only 1330 miles (he was out of the country for most of that period), and a previously unknown small antifreeze leak from the intake gasket, resulted in a crankcase full of jelly!
Say whatever you want, but I will never again let any engine go 12 months between oil changes.
