Hey Brian, hope things are going well. My sister had a lot of problems intermittently with her infotainment unit on her '06 9-3SS. The closest dealer here is 1.5hrs away one way, so we never took it in there "just" for the unit but always had them check it when it was there for other reasons.

Ultimately after about 5 months of owning, the buttons on both the radio and ACC began to peel. Next time we took it in, the radio completely *died* *on the way to the dealer! We were going there initially to complain for the pealing (which would end us with a new unit) but since it died, we did not need to complain about the pealing, however we did tell them.

A new ACC, radio unit, dash benzel, glovebox button and upper trim later (with many many other poor quality trim replacement items) we were back on the road.

She now solely uses the steering wheel buttons as the peeling seemed to occur mainly on the buttons which were pressed constantly.

For your TPMS, Ive read that this CAN be done as some years were stock fitted without rims where the sensors could be mounted, but dealers will not deactivate the system as it becomes a liability for them. Im not certian on your '08. Will have a clients '05 here next week and I can play around with the Tech 2 and see what options there are for it.
