So my lease is winding down on my 2007 9-3 Aero SS. I feel like the residual/buyout is too high based on current market value for a used 9-3 Aero w/30k+ miles (buy option is $24,500).

So, I am weighing 3 options ..

1: turn it in and look at a different car
2: buy it despite the high residual cost since I like the car
3: buy a new 2008 9-3 Aero w/same options for $28500 (with all applicable incentives)

Buying it outright would cost another $1500 to CPO it bringing the total cost to $26k .. for another $2k I can get a brand new 2008 with all of the same options (touring package, 6spd, cold weather package) .. so buying my car is not likely. Buying another CPO'd car doesnt sit well with me either, so thats not an option.

So I am down to either buy the new 2008 Aero or just look at other cars. I still have a few months on my current lease, but I cant wait to long since I'd need to move on a 2008 if I decide to go new (since the 2009 9-3 Aero's are AWD only and considerably more expensive).

Any advice? The 2008 I looked at was a $38,300 sticker and $28,500 seemed like a pretty good deal .. but with GM and Saab's status questionable these days, I am a little hesitant. I welcome and suggestions/advice ..
