Front Rotors
Level 1: 285mm diameter, 25mm Thickness new, 22mm Minimum thickness, 23.5mm Minimum thickness after grinding.

Level 2: 302mm diameter, 28mm Thickness new, 25mm Minimum thickness, 26.5mm Minimum thickness after grinding.

Level 3: 314mm diameter, 28mm Thickness new, 25mm Minimum thickness, 26.5mm Minimum thickness after grinding.

Level 4: Rotors the same as level 2.

Rear Rotors
Level 1: solid
Level 2: vented
Level 3: vented (same as level 2)
Level 4: solid (same as level 1)

The only difference between level 2&4 is that 2 has vented rear rotors and 4 has solid rear rotors. They both have the same front brakes.

As for Aero's. 4 cylinder Aeros used level 2&4. Some early 6 cylinder Aero's used level 4 brakes (solid rear) But most 6 cyl Aero's use level 3

They sure do like to make it confusing.
I feel sorry for the parts guy at the dealership I work at trying to get the right pads and rotors to customers who don't have a clue to what they have. SAAB should have a way to run the VIN number and have it tell you exactly what brakes are on the car.

There is a VIN plate on the car that does give the brake codes (2 letter code). I think its on the drivers door jamb. The ealier cars only have the codes for suspension parts (springs, struts, shocks and swaybars) I think from 2006 and newer the plate has codes for brakes.

On the bottom of the VIN plate there is a row of characters that describe which brake calipers and brake discs the car is equipped with.
Position 7 = Brake disc, front
Position 8 = Brake disc, rear
Position 9 = Brake caliper, front
Position 10= Brake caliper, rear
