Headlight glitch...or something to that tune...

My '05 SS (Linear, non-Xenon) has developed another quirk. A few weeks ago when I would run the lights (low beams) and turn them off quickly (by quickly I mean I would flip the switch to off like any other human would do...no faster...basically "normally") the lights would turn off as they should and I would immediately get a "left dipped beam failure" message on the SID. This happened fairly regularly. Then when I immediately turned the lights on again, the left low beam would work perfectly fine. Then 5 days ago I got the message when I turned the car on (lights were off) and when I checked, the drivers low beam was indeed out. Since then, every time I turn the car on I get the message and upon turning on the lights, find it to be true. I had not, however, driven it at night yet.
Until last night driving home from work (in the dark I mean)
I turned on the lights, immediately observed the familiar message, cleared it from the SID and dubbed myself "padiddle" and went on my way, padiddle and all. 1.5 miles later at a stoplight, I had two fully functional low beams again.
WTF?
Fast forward to this morning; I turn on the car, lights off, and indeed that same fuggin message is showing again...no drivers low beam!
Any ideas? Obviously, yes, I have been to the Dealer to get my DRL's disengaged, that's the basis for being able to control my lighting...
