The '06 SportCombis came with two nets......... Posted by MI-Roger [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: cargo net for 07 9-3 sportcombi, Denny, Thu, 28 May 2009 20:16:41 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
One net stretches across the floor of the cargo compartment, anchoring at all four corners. I guess it is designed to hold items on the floor, more or less centered in the cargo compartment. Our net has never left its bag.
The other net has loops which attach to the two twist knobs uner the accordian fold floor, and two hooks which grasp the floor outside of its hinges when it is in the raised & folded position. This one is very useful for keeping grocery bags from sliding all over the back compartment!
The floor to ceiling net never existed but is a common misconception. Perhaps someone in advertising goofed and included a photo of a phantom product into the brochure. I recall seeing the same thing while researching our car.
No way would the material from either of these nets constrain a dog! Saab does offer steel bar dividers to do this job. One barricades the cargo compartment from the rear seat area, the other divides the cargo compartment longitudinally. with both installed you can have the dog in one half, luggage in the other, and neither will fly into the rear seat during a panic stop.
