There is a new tank. They only have limited suppies right now so they have to be ordered by VIN number. There will be a service campaign comming soon to change the Aero (V6) coolant expansion tanks with the new design.

RECOMMENDATION/INSTRUCTIONS:
Solution for leaking tanks MY's 2006-2009 B284 V6 is a 2 step repair.
1) Replace expansion tank with new kit and verify hose routing
2) Update ME9 engine management software to extend engine cooling fan run time
New expansion tanks kits are now available in a limited quantity at the Parts Distribution Centers. The kits include a new tank, 2 new hoses and 2 hose clamps for the tank side connections.
This very limited quantity of reservoirs should be reserved for customer satisfaction/Vehicle Off Road situations.
ADD INFO Order Form (copy attached) must be faxed with the complete VIN to the SAAB Parts Help Line at 610 366 6886.
Each VIN will be recorded in SAAB's Warranty Database.
NOTE: When replacing a reservoir the technicians should verify that hose routing was changed per TSB 260-2695. Late 2008 and early 2009 MY's may have had the hoses swapped in production.
Solution for cooling fan runs time:
· 2009 MY - Should already have the updated fan calibration from production.
· 2008 MY (Excluding Turbo X) - update ME9 engine management software using Tech2 ver. 135.000 or later. (Turbo X updated software will not be available until later this spring).
· 2006-2007 MY - update ME9 engine management software using Tech2 ver. 140.000 or later.
A TSB with parts and software update information is planned for release when parts are available in reasonable quantity.
