Simple to check... Posted by JustinHiFi [Email] ![]() ![]() In Reply to: CV Hyd Oil Leak, RC, Thu, 23 Jul 2009 07:09:42 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
To check and see where the leak is coming from you need to disassemble the 1st bow covers.
Put top down and tonneau cover is still up just prior to it closing. Now remove the 8-10 Philips headed rivit clips holding the metal plate to the roof header. On the middle clips there may be a couple of pieces of felt covering the clips. Simply remove the felt, unscrew the center section and then pull out the surrounding clip. Remove the entire metal plate.
Next, take the foam header piece and move it toward the rear. It is somewhat indexed and once you slide it backwards it will smoothly come right off. Now you can see the lines, piston and latches. Now you can operate the top and narrow down where the leak is coming from as you can see both the lines and piston.
The lines ($200) are sold as a separate unit than the cylinder ($500). They will also include the wiring harness for the latches. If you need new lines, be sure to order new o-rings for where they attach to the pump assembly as they are not included on the new lines.
