very interesting... I have a 2004 9-3 Aero and a couple of months ago got the BSR stage 1 and pretty much have experienced the same thing. I went through all kinds of hell replacing all manor of parts based on others' experience / opinions including:
- new plugs
- all new coils
- new (stock) air filter
- boost control valve
- boost bypass valve (after repeated cleanings of original with CRC cleaner).
- mass air flow sensor
- crankshaft position sensor
The only thing that had any effect at all was cleaning and / or replacing the MAF although the improvement was only temporary (a couple of days at best). I also had tuned / de-tuned repeatedly to no avail. Right now I am just running the original tuning but the "damage" seems to have been done. Don't know what the problem is, but it hasn't run properly even de-tuned ever since. I'm wondering what the heck this could have done. It now has lack of power, has a lot of hesitation under various partial throttle positions, and even at full throttle just doesn't have nearly the power that it used to have. I have had it to the dealer (it's still under CPO warranty) three times. The third time just today (it's still there). First time they couldn't find anything wrong. Second time they replaced the fuel pressure regulator, and it's back to square one with the current dealer visit. Never did the car throw any codes so I have been beating my head against the wall with this and the dealer is scratching their heads. This seems to have been a tremendous waste of money (about $1500 total including the PPC plus all the parts I replaced). Never again. Good luck with yours. I wish I could give you some helpful information, but it's interesting to know that doing the BSR PPC isn't like falling of a log for everyone.
