Yes, about 1/4" outside ridge or maybe a little bit less is common on all the Saab's (and Volvo's) where the pad doesn't wear.
If the car had the small rotors from factory (285 mm) you would not be able to fit a 302mm rotor inside the caliper and yoke.
But as I recently found out, it is possible to fit the 9-5 288mm rotor (barely) but it will make noises that only a quickie brake shop facility can ignore by leaving out the hold down springs and send the customer happily on their way.
