HA HAHA ! That is hilarious, using a thrashed up 2003 Linear as aloner to scare customers into tranny flushes! Brilliant marketing, that car will pay for itself many times over,
I've got 161,000 miles on a Launch edition 2003 Linear. Its got the oddball tranny that needed new software to fix a problem with the tranny's valve body. It was some problem with high revs during accel when taking off from a stop sign - after driving on the highway.
I remember that if the software didn't fix the problem, they would replace the valve body. But I never got one - the software fix worked. Only thing was that I got some Gearbox Malf. error one time and that somehow made me lose the software fix - had to go get it reloaded, and the revving went away again.
I did a ATF flush with Toyota Type T-IV?? and still no problems with tranny, so far so good.
Great posts - I was laughing outloud.
