Hey. I am also a saab owner. I have an 03 9-3SS. I also sell a ton of centric parts for a living. I have been running their pads and rotors for about two years. The black coating you talk about is actually an E-coating. It is very similar to powder coating and has lasted beautifully on my rotors. They also make them in drilled and slotted if you want. Centric also owns stop-tech. The race brake people. I suggest using centrics Posi-quiet pad. The 104 series is a great semi metallic pad with a good bite for stopping power. I have been running them for about two years and still have %50 pad material left. Hope this helps. Email me with any brake questions.
