For oil, depending on when you plan to do oil changes, driving conditions, etc. Mobil 1 0W-30 may be just fine.
Saab has stated that the only Mobil 1 oil in the USA that meets the GM longlife specification GM-LL-A-025 is Mobil 1 0W-40. What that means is the software that predicts oil wear is based on the properties of oils meeting the GM longlife specification GM-LL-A-025 specification. Based on the driving conditions for the vehicle (number of hours idling, average speed, number of starts, engine temperature, maybe even outside temperature, etc.), the software gives a oil life reading. Using a different oil simply means that the oil monitor software will probably be wrong in estimating the life of the oil.
As far as resetting the oil monitor, I understand from some postings on this BB that in some situations it may require the use of the TECH II service computer to reset the oil monitor. A TECH II would be available at the dealer or a independent Saab shop.
