Is engine the 2.0T or the 2.8 V6? Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Fri, 12 Aug 2011 03:50:13 In Reply to: Saab 9-3 Aero, Sport Combi 2008, Gabriel, Thu, 11 Aug 2011 19:14:44 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
We have a 2006 9-3SC with the 2.0T engine. It has been a very solid car! We just clicked over 40K miles and the only maintenance I have done is filters, fluids, spark plugs (early replacement due to boredom), and replacing the rear brake pads. The factory pads appeared to still have 40% life remaining at 40K miles, but their dusting was horrible.
The V6 is difficult to service due to no working space under the hood. But the only common problem with the V6 Aeros is coolant recovery bottles which split and leak. apparently they use a much different resevoir than the 2.0T engine cars.
