Car may have been struck by lightning - 2005 9-3 Posted by gsb94900T [Email] (#390) [Profile/Gallery] (more from gsb94900T) on Sat, 13 Aug 2011 07:06:12 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
So we had some unusual severe weather last week in the Boston area. Very sudden, hard rain and intense thunder and lightning. When I went to start the car, it was all fogged up on the inside. Then the fan wouldn't work and many other lights like ABS and seat belt were on. After work the battery was dead. Dealer said that it was the fan speed regulator that killed the battery. $600 estimate. For now they unhooked that part so I have no fan at all but the car seems fine other than that. Thoughts? Do you think this might have been an electrical short of some kind or just unfortunate timing? Oh, I forgot to mention this was a certified used and the warranty ran out August 1!
