(Update)
I cold started the car and heard the pump running (heard the air sound lasting for about 30 seconds then it cut off like it always has since I've owned the car since mile 0). I also disconnected the jose to the check valve (large circular box to the left of the battery) and inserted my pinki into both the hose and the valve to check for soot (i had read that was an easy way to determine valve failure) and both ends were surprisingly squeaky clean. If the valve was fine and the pump still sounds like it works I am getting confused. Is it possible for condensation to accumulate in the pump if the valve is working properly? If yes, I would like to try to maybe shop vac out any moisture from to lines and the pump. Where should I connect the vac to?
Also, in the best case and the car just threw a random error code, how do I reset the logs? Does disconnecting the battery work? If so, disconnect red before black? Thanks.
