1) Zero to sixty is a poor measure of performance for a FWD car because of loss of traction.
2) The factory performance limit on the Turbo V-6 is purposely held back to 258 ft. lb. (350 NM) because of traction limitations. With AWD, the factory has allowed up to 400 NM (almost 300 ft. lb.), that being the rating on the transmission.
The one truly high performance V-6 9-3 was the TurboX, which was AWD.
All that said, considering the extra expense, fuel useage, complexity and chassis limitations, the 4 cylinder engine is a better starting point. You can purchase performance upgrades that bring the 4 cylinder's performance up to almost the level of the factory V-6. By the same token, you can also purchase performance upgrades for the V-6, but then you will still be dealing with the limit of traction (FWD) and transmission rating (both versions).
