DRL sensors location Posted by Gator Ray [Email] ![]() ![]() |
I recently had to have my windshield replaced (stone damage)on my new to me 2008 9-3 Aero. I usually drive with the headlamp switch in "Auto mode", and since the replacement of the windshield, the DRL to Xenon switch-over seems to be overly sensitive. I'm observing that the Xenons turn on sooner, in light conditions which I wouldn't consider dim and take much longer to return to the DRL's once in brighter conditions.
If what I read is correct in the owner's manual, the sensors (one forward-looking and the other upward-looking are at the upper middle of the windshield by the mirror.
The replacement windhield is OEM, but is it possible that the installer has partially covered the sensors, making them "think" that it is darker that it really is?
I haven't been able to find info from any other source, so if any reader out there in Saanet Land can assist me in this topic, please do!
Thanks very much!!
