Considering swapping out '03 9-5 Aero for '06 9-3 Aero

I've loved my 9-5 since day 1. I was the 2nd owner and got her with 50k miles. She's been great. Even now with 126k miles, she runs very strong. There are a few signs of age. An odd noise from the engine bay (sounds like a whining baby moose) crops up once and a while. Had it fixed at an indy shop a while back once before. They said it was a valve/hose related to the turbo. Now, it makes the noise any time you spook up the turbo.
Anyhow, also showing some other signs of age. Yellow headlamp covers (I have never been able to fix the etching problem) needs new shocks, etc...
The side story is that I also have a 2000 Honda S2K which I'm trying to get rid of. There's a local dealer who may be willing to swap an '06 9-3 Aero Convertible for my 9-5 Aero + the S2k.
Just checking in here. Am I asking for headaches? I know the 9-3 is a very different platform and has much more GM in it, unlike my 9-5 which (imho) was a great chassis and platform that stood the test of time both in terms of model years, but also for me personally as a ride. Love how she drives flat and feels solid.
I would love it if I could get the seat back a bit more and bring the steering wheel closer. My right leg is always bent and since I drive about 4hrs every day, this can be a pain. Is the 9-3 better in this respect?
Comments / input welcome.
Thanks,
N
