Re: Batter acid leak Posted by SWEDECAR [Email] ![]() ![]() ![]() In Reply to: Re: Batter acid leak, JustinHiFi ![]() |
The other day after my wife came home from work (30 miles drive) and she asked me to clean the windshield.
I backed the car out, wiped off the inside and outside with doors open (5 min max) and got in to start it up, click, click, click. The darn battery was dead.
And this was a 2 year old Interstate that I out in when the original Saab battery died in the same pattern.
I rolled the car out and tried to charge up and jump start with my car and jumper cables but it would not hear about that.
So I had to go and get a new one from the shop.
So the moral of the story is, it was no pending evidence whatsoever that the battery was on the brink of failing when I started it up in the garage and I had no reason to believe that a two year old battery could not hold 5 min of doors open after the car had been driven for 30 miles minutes earlier.
These cars are just strange in how the kill their batteries.
Many customer have called me saying the same thing and they can't even tow their cars out of the parking structure because the ignition lock don't turn.
New battery fix most of those problems.
