Our 2006 9-3 SC, 90k miles, "consumes" oil, about 1/2 Qt every 5000 miles. Perhaps at the last change, a little less oil was put in than the max (say 1/2 qt. from max), then perhaps the car consumed another 1/2 qt., then you could easily go below the minimum level. So I would not freak out yet.
I would keep careful track of the oil level every 1000 miles for the next 5000 miles, and then determine exactly how much you are consuming before taking any other steps. (Always check it oil with car parked in the same spot, so that the levelness of the ground does not effect the dip stick reading.)
As far as the choppy start and higher than normal idle rpm, that would not be related to adding oil.
