Frozen shift linkage Posted by Michael [Email] (#1365) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Michael) on Sun, 10 Feb 2013 13:55:25 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Left my 2003 9-3 out in the wide open yesterday during the blizzard while I plowed and shoveled for 33 hours straight. Returned to 'Wasaabie' at 8 last night dug it out and drove home no sweat. Tried to head out for lunch today to find him stuck in first gear. I was initially very concerned and worried that I was going to have to spend all of the extra, hard earned money to tow and repair him. I then wondered if maybe something was frozen in place. I popped the hood and found significant snow in and around the engine bay and particularly up against the shift cables.
...
Finally after about 10 minutes of idling (with clutch depressed), it thawed and I was free to go. Anyone else ever encounter this?
Also, anyone else have trouble getting into second gear when their car is very cold. Its almost impossible during first 3-5 minutes of trip for me so I just skip it.
