This is the maintenance schedule I use on my car. Hopefully this helps.
REM in Seattle
2005 Saab 9-3 Aero Convertible; Steel Gray metallic; 5-speed; 44,000 miles
Based on usage of approximately 5,000-miles per year.
At least once a month:
Check engine oil level.
Check power steering fluid level.
Check brake fluid level.
Check coolant level.
Check tire pressure (35 PSI Front & Rear).
Check spare tire pressure (60 PSI).
Check wiper blades, clean wiper blades and glass.
Check all exterior lights (headlight, brake, turn signal, back-up, etc.) for proper operation.
Test windshield washer system and top-up fluid.
Once a year, in addition to the above:
Check engine, drive belts, all hoses, and all vacuum lines for signs of damage or leakage.
Check engine cooling system, hoses, and cap.
Check coolant freeze point.
Clean battery case and check battery terminal connections.
Check headlight, fog light aim.
Lubricate door hinges, stops, and locks and check operation.
Every 5,000-miles or 1 year:
Change engine oil and oil filter using synthetic motor oil.
Rotate tires.
Add 1 bottle of Redline SI-1 Complete Fuel System Cleaner or Chevron Techron Concentrate fuel system cleaner to fuel tank.
“Intermediate Service” when signaled by Service Indicator (8,000-miles minimum to 15,000-miles maximum or 2 years):
Replace cabin ventilation air filter.
Check headlight alignment.
Check underside of car for damage and fluid leaks.
Check brake pads.
Check tire pressure, tread depth and wear
Check battery condition.
Check condition of drive belt and tensioner.
Reset service indicator.
Road test. Check performance of drive train, steering, and brakes, and verify tire balance. Check function of instruments and controls, including horn, windshield wipers, cruise control, and climate system. Note any noises or problems for correction.
“Main Service” when signaled by Service Indicator (every 30,000-mile):
Replace engine air cleaner element.
Lubricate brake calipers as needed, and inspect brake hoses and brake lines.
Check manual transmission fluid level.
Check shock absorbers and bushings.
Check inner and outer drive joint boots.
Check ball joint clearance, outer and inner steering joints and rubber boots.
Check exhaust system.
Check fuel lines and fuel tank.
Check parking brake function.
Check safety belts; operation and visual inspection
Check airbag system, SRS warning lamp, visual inspection.
Reset service indicator.
Road test. Check performance of drive train, steering, and brakes, and verify tire balance. Check function of instruments and controls, including horn, windshield wipers, cruise control, and climate system. Note any noises or problems for correction.
Every 48-months:
Change/flush brake system with new brake fluid, and bleed air from brake system.
Every 60-months or 150,000-miles:
Flush the cooling system and refill with 50/50 mix of Dex-Cool anti-freeze/coolant.
Every 60,000 miles, in addition to “Main Service”:
Replace spark plugs.
Change manual transmission fluid.
Replace serpentine belt.
Check drive belt tensioner and pulleys.
Every 90,000 miles, in addition to “Main Service”:
Replace fuel filter.
Change power steering fluid using Pentosin® CHF 11S synthetic hydraulic fluid.
Every 120,000 miles, in addition to “Main Service”:
Replace oxygen sensors, if needed.
