XWD "self leveling" shocks are expensive, and i've heard some anecdotal cases of early failure. However, it seems that many shops see them weeping a bit and consider them shot, but in actuality they're fine - they just weep more than the other standard shocks. From what i've read online, several folks are going towards the Coil Over kit from Maptun for the XWD cars - its a bit pricey at $1600 for the set, not including install, but if you think about it, it's a lot cheaper than replacing all four Nivomat self-leveling struts/shocks.
