Dynoing an XWD... Posted by magalar [Email] (#1325) [Profile/Gallery] (more from magalar) on Mon, 21 Oct 2013 18:26:39 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Hi again fellow Saabers,
I have this friend that operates a Dyno shop here in Montreal. http://www.dynodoc.ca/dynodoc.html
He uses a 4 wheel dyno made by Dynapack.
He will be at my home tomorrow, persusing the leftovers of my 12 years ownership of an Audi urQuattro. While I expect some money for those rare bits, I can also ask him to dyno the 9-3 for cheap, for a baseline run. That way, I'll be sure everything is in order, and I'll know the true figures of that car.
Now, I've read WIS and it clearly caution against 2 wheel dyno with the XWD fuse pulled. This would destroy the Haldex clutch because of the speed difference between input and output shafts.
So, in the case of the Dynapack, which uses 4 independant hydraulic pumps to create resistance, is it possible to dyno an XWD, of for that matter, any Haldex ? Would it be harmful to the Haldex clutch ?
