I had a similar problem in my 08 SC... Passenger seat stuck at full down.
I removed the seat from the car, brought it on the bench, and began dismantling. Then, I discovered it was stuck, but the motor was perfectly functional. It was the screw that was stuck in the cylinder. I turned it a bit with a plier while I was applying 12V to the motor contacts. It freed itself, and is now working normally. I just make sure I don't drop it all to the bottom with my 240 lbs in it...
Is your motor stuck at one end of its travel ? If so, then Im would suspect a similar problem.
