I have this too - 2007 2.0T SportCombi. If I'm in very hard rain or a car-wash, I'll sometimes get the soaked footwell behind the driver seat.
The left rear door seems to close "softly", so I was going to try positioning the door latch pin inwards to force the seals to engage better... have not gotten to it yet though.
