Hello,
Yes the engine number is stamped on the engine. It will start out B207 and then have an L or R I believe. I have a spare engine in storage I can check on tomorrow. I think it is stamped next to where the crank sensor bolts into the side of the engine above the starter. I will have to double check that also. I know the older engines were stamped there and I think it is in the same place on the 207 engines. But the real engine difference was in the cylinder head.
But make sure that the oil feed line and return line to the turbo are not blocked. That will kill the turbo. Good Luck, Bernie
