No, locking/unlocking the door doesn't do anything. Nor does turning off the stereo before shutting down the car. The issue is these lights then stay on all the time (overnight in our case). They only turn off briefly when the key is first pulled and the door opened. but as soon as the door is closed and the dome light fades, they come on and stay on. So far it hasn't drained the battery so I want to figure it out before the first cold snap.
And I should add, my mechanic is at the convention and won't be in until Tuesday I think.
