It's such a jungle out there and it changes through the years as well.
Pagid was the factory pad with the NG900 but they were short lived, dusty and chewed away on the brake rotor too much. Textar was very similar as well.
I'm surprised to hear that you didn't feel like the Textar was stopping good enough since that's usually the only great trait with those dusty short lived pads.
The only few complaints with Akebono is that the driver might feel they need to step harder on the brake pedal but after a few miles, you learn and don't think about it again.
But it goes to show there is not one driver alike to the other.
