I have a 2010 9-3 and it has been a pretty decent car. Currently at 73Kmi. About the only "major" issue was the electronic throttle module at about 55Kmi. I think that cost me about $500 to get fixed. RL Smith Sales outside of Albany NY took care of that when my daughter had the car up there. Good people. There was a little hold up getting the part but not more than a few days.
Other than that mostly nit pick items such as:
The front and rear window rubber trim has crumbled to nothing. The car isn't garaged, but I don't see this happening to other cars. Not sure what the story is.
Leather seats don't hold up well. I have a tear in the driver side bolster and the passenger side got a little wet once and doesn't look too great. Would have much preferred a premium cloth to what seems to be very delicate leather. Note this is with the car being primarily driven by my wife and daughter who are both on the smaller / lighter side.
I might have a bad front wheel bearing, but maybe not :) I replaced the right front one the other day and it didn't fix what I was convinced was a bearing noise. Jury is still out on that one.
Had the windshield washer nozzles come apart. I suspect they may have sat idle one winter and froze. Pretty easy/cheap fix.
Other than that just tires oil changes and brakes.
I have it back now as my 2nd car and it honestly is a great handling quick car. I'll try to keep it for as long as possible.
One other gripe. Toward the end Saab really wasn't keeping up on the technology side of things. It is a 2010 "premium car". No Bluetooth, No satellite radio, no USB. I'm not suggesting that was a major contributor to their downfall, but I honestly thought the car had BT when I bought it.
I guess we'll wait and see on parts. I just intend to drive it as long as I can.
